What pressure are you running them at?

Right - because if you put more in they'll get bigger. My father in-law used to run tires that were 10 or 20 years old, all different sizes, and just put more air in to equalize sizes. I made him replace 14 year old dry-rotted tires on his car by threatening to never ride with him.

With 35's on 17's there's gonna be a lot more sidewall squish, may need to run them at a higher PSI.
Meant for the OP.
That's a terrifying though

I paid for 35s and would expect them to be 35s regardless of brand. Kendas are a common atv tire brand and they also make mud terrains for trucks. Im curious for next time i order tires.... what do some brand name tires actually measure compared to their stated size?

Air has something to do with it but how they are made is the largest reason of how a tire measures. Whether they are cold spun or hot spun and how they are cooled.

Tire pressure could definitely have something to do with it. Check with the tire manufacturer for tire pressure recommendation for the size tire you have and the specs for your truck. I contacted Nitto and asked what the tire pressure should be for my 285/65/18 Nitto Terra Grappler M/T's on my truck and they told me 44 psi.
