Default Lifting kit?? Help :(

Hey yall! So I'm starting to rebuild my own truck. I want to get some 35s but I don't know if I have to get a lift kit or what? It's a 2008 f150 XLT 4wd

What's your price range?

Well I don't think I have one. I'm going to spend about 2,000 on new wheels and tires. How much does a kit usually cost?

A full 4" lift can range from $1199-1,500 without install. In all honesty, it's the best way to go. It keeps everything at stock geometry, but will allow you to clear 35s without rubbing.

A 6" will run you roughly $1299-5000 (depending on the quality you want).

IMO, do a full lift. I've given up on the idea of leveling. If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right.

Any time, man! Also, check out customwheeloffsets.com for wheel and tire packages. They're prices are hard to beat.

I think thats pretty solid advice on the lift. I would probably go with a 4" lift for 35's. Leveling kits start running into geometry issues past 2", and thats not enough to run 35's without rubbing.
I have a 2" level and have tires which measure 11" x 33" and thats fine for what I'm doing but I would like to go to a bona fide 4" lift and 12.50 x 35" tires.
Have you thought about gearing? You're going to take a performance hit with those tires, which can be recovered (and even improved ) with re-gearing. It won't be bad but you'll notice it. Just thinking out loud on that one.
If I were doing the tires/wheels/lift, I'd like to re-gear to 4.56 but thats going to add another $2200-ish to the project, so thats why I'm waiting for now.
