For your power level,(what I call stock) No I wouldn't worry. Once you start modding and tunning your ride and pushing the limits, then yes it could.
If you foul a plug or a coil quits and you stay in it from not knowing, your A/F could spike and you can loose a motor in a matter of seconds. A good way to know is have a wideband or 2, one for each bank.

lol i dont speak engine, its like another language haha. but i did gotts mod today, it sounds great and rly seems to pick up when accelerating, i was shocked to find a replacement drop in k&n filter was already in it, but its pretty dirty, anyone know how to clean it? do u just spray it off or is there a speacial product or what?

long story short i have a roush CAI and i went off roading/ mudding and i thought i alos blew my engine because of the water issue...but i was extremely close to it

yeah unless i have a jacked truck like harley, i aint goin thru mudd over 2ft deep.....

you can by some stuff to spray on wires and electronics to help keep water from bugging with them... i dont remember the name of it... i always sprayed it on the wires and dist cap of our race trucks... before every race... but if you plan on getting into any mud..i would not get a open air filter.. wouldnt even think about it

so i went thru some mud today and its shaking again(the engine) and its puffing out a real gassy burnt smell... it'll prolly be better by tomorrow once it drys off... its rly annoying tho...
