Default Air intake+Muddboggin= Good or Bad idea?

okay so this might be a stupid question, but i want closure to a topic im not quite confident in my awnser to. I'd love to put an air intake on my truck for the sound and mpg increase(prolly k&n because that seems like the best product out there from those ive asked) however, i enjoy off roading and or mud bogging, and im curious, is it a good idea to have an air intake if i plan to go mud boggin?

all advice/help is appreciated. thanks!

a short ram intake should be fine but id stay away from a full cai, that will just relocate the filter towards the bottom of your engine bay making it easier to hydrolock-if the filter becomes completly submerged in water/mud it will suck that into the engine and thats no bueno

would doing the gotts mod completely(unless its submerged in water) rid me of the worry of sucking mud/water into the engine?

its no easier than not doing it... the stock location is probably the best bet. doing a cai u run the risk of sucking in water big time. look at the underside of ur hood (if you`ve gone already) bet there water marks and mudd on it... a cold air will get covered in that. just my .02$
