Default Air Compressor Woes

I've been fighting -ing air leaks in my system for the better part of a year now. I'm looking for some help in getting them resolved once and for all. Could anyone with experience please give me some pointers?
  • Viar HD Compressor w/ 2.5 Gal. (150PSI)
  • Polyethylene plastic airlines
  • Teflon taped brass fittings

At first I had some issues with the copper fittings, but I've got them pretty well air-tight now. The PE plastic airlines are driving me absolutely insane. They either crack at the fittings due to any level of stress on the joint or get in-line cracks that almost look like a blow out.

I tried buying a softer clear vinyl material air line but I'm struggling to get it to fit into the fittings.

How can I address this problem? I'm thinking new airlines are in order, but I don't know what to buy. I'm also looking for any other pointers from guys more experiences with hooking these up.

Thanks!
