A big bill at the car wash. No seriously when I break something I look at it as a good time to upgrade. Of course I am a mud racer and we are a bit of a different bunch.

One other thing is you can try Mudd-Off before you go to keep the mud from sticking as bad. http://www.mud-throwers.com/inc/sdetail/138 or alot of guys use old trans fluid and diesel fuel.

I'm of the opinion of a really, really, good underbody wash. If you've got splash guards and whatnot, or if you don't, get them. Invest in a snorkel. But, I would stick to light mudding and trail riding if you don't lots of issues.

Well your front bearings take a beating. So does your U-joints. If your going in alot of ditches your suspension is gonna take some what of a beating. Mmmm I know on the 01 f-150s at least mine has it there is a metal plate behind the front disc brakes and little rocks get stuck and make a loud chalk board scratch noise. And that put big ditches in my front disc brakes. Mmm if your going in deep water your gonna wanna drain your rear diff and put new fluid in. ..... Overall off- roading is tough on the truck but it's a truck so it's gonna take ALOT of beating but down the road it will show signs of it too.

Mudding is def an older truck sport! Or unless you can $$$ to blow on new truck mudding. For me I make sure my front wheel wells are covered to reduce the amount of mud and whatever getting to the engine. I never get too deep, especially never past the wheel hubs if possible.

Got pressure washer at home when needed

Lol...I remember my buddy's old Toyota Tacoma went mudding/splashing in mostly cold *** water. Afterwards the truck ran funny and later found out he cracked his engine block!!! Yeah, not a good idea in your daily driver! But we were young and dumb back then....
