If I recall correctly the hitch is part of the frame...so if you add recovery points they'll be attached to the frame/hitch anyway. While the hitch might be rated for 10k there is a lot more than 10k of force on it during certain situations when towing a 10k trailer. Besides, a recovery strap is a lot easier on vehicles than a chain would be... Only time I would consider doing anything stronger would be if I was running 40+ tires and burying it to the frame in gumbo mud all the time...
