I'm going with a smittybilt 10k, I just can't bring myself to buy a cheap harbor freight winch, no matter what people say about them. The smittybilt 10k is $400 with cable or $550 with synthetic rope

I put a Viper 3k winch on my ATV a few years ago based on lots of really positive reviews on ATV forums. I've put it through hell and it hasn't given me any problems, and I was happy enough with it that when I wanted one for my truck I went back to them.

That said, if my offroading involved me going anywhere alone and outside of cell coverage, I'd have a Warn.

From what I've read, yes they're both china built, but they aren't the same. In my eyes the smittybilt is worth the extra $100

In my eyes the Warn is worth more than they ask for it.
Do you want to drive home or walk?
Have fun digging with those chopsticks!!

How is it. Does it feel nice and solid or does it feel like a cheap china POS?
I just bought it Friday lol. My friend had the 8k on his jeep and he said its totally worth it specially with the price. He used his over 100x to get his jeep out and I doubt ill use mine that much even. So since I prob won't have high use I can't go wrong with the price. I know my harbor freight has it listed til Sunday for $300 down from $500 so a $200 savings.
