Default 6" Fabtech Lift dilema with the struts

Well my 2005 F150 came with a Fabtech 6" lift and my front struts have blown out. They are completely covered from the oil that was once within the strut. I don't know to much about lifts but from what I was told, the caps on the top of the struts has separated from where they are suppose to be. And I can see that the cap is about 2 inches above the strut. Has anyone seen this or had this happen? If so why did it happen and what can be done to prevent it from happening again? I went to my local lift kit shop asking about a replacement strut preferably in another brand. They told me they recommend staying with the same strut since its a fabtech strut thats made for the fabtech lift. When I told them why I wanted to get away from the fabtech strut their reply was they have never seen a strut have this happen in the 20 years he's been installing lifts. Is there another strut I should look at? What are your guys thoughts?

If its the white strut with the blue ring, fabtech no longer makes them because of this reason, blowing out. Topgunz customs sales bilstein 5100 4-6" that you can use

So do you recommend I go with another brand or should I try what fabtech has to offer as a replacement?

I went to my local 4X4 shop and he said he can still get a fabtech strut to replace mine with.

Put coilovers on it or get the Bilsteins.
