4in lifts

I've never heard of a "Ford" lift but i see brand new lifted and leveled trucks sitting on ford lots all the time... I don't know this for a fact but I'd assume, if they are covering your warranty for items that will wear from a lift and bigger tires, it's the dealership themselves and not Ford. I'd imagine the dealer could (somewhat unethically) claim warranty coverage from ford for parts that wore due to a lift and just not tell ford it was lifted. with the actual lift itself, there isn't much that's gonna wear and a lot of lift manufacturers give lifetime warranties for their lifts for that reason. I would watch the fine print on something like that... every dealership I've been to has some sort of warranty for the work they do but I'm pretty sure that would be limited to the actual work and not parts that are gonna be more susceptible to wear and stress because of aftermarket parts.
the majority of the parts that are gonna wear are relatively cheap and if you had to go out of pocket, it's likely not gonna break the bank. (cv axles are < $100 from napa (the actual MC ones are pricey), tie rods are like $25, moog hubs are <$150,...) the only thing I'd be worried about is the trans... people run lifted with big tires and skipping the re-gearing all the time with no trans issues. other people keep their truck completely stock and never tow or haul anything to speak of and have trans problems with low mileage... but i would bet money, if you didn't buy it new with a lift and bigger tires already installed, then you lift and throw some 35's on there and have a trans issue (whether a dealer did it or not) they are gonna deny a warranty claim. a ford tech i know said they will deny trans issues if you change your tire size anything more than a 3% increase in size.

To keep your ride quality you should go with a quality manufacturer such as BDS Suspension. You will get a lifetime NO BS parts warranty and a 5yr/60k Mile Powertrain warranty for added protection if FORD happens to say the lift did in fact cause an issue with your vehicle. One main place to look is the components, most 4" lifts will only have a strut spacer and you re-use your factory strut. If you up it to a 6" like the BDS kit you get a replacement strut that rides much nicer than stock. Speaking of tires, unless you want to do some moderate trimming a 6" lift is the safe bet to run 35's - Just pay attention to the lift kit manufactures recommended wheel backspacing.

I have an RCX 4" lift. People praise BDS, but the 4" RCX lift is nearly identical. And like BDS they will replace any part etc. BDS does offer the PT - but that gets a bit sketchy too. I do like that the BDS can use 18" wheels. I'm running 20s so it's not an issue with the RCX - EXCEPT if you have to run a 18" spare!
Most of the working geometry of the suspension stays the same with the 4" lift exception of CG - but no impact. The fabtech lift has all kinds of cutting etc... If you you go with a 4" you need to be cautious of wheel offset. Anything greater than 0 with 35/12.5/20 will need a good amount of trimming, especially on the drivers side. All depends on the tire too...the TG is a bit wider than some other 35s etc.
As far as warranty...I've not had an issue yet. My dealer loves the truck and has actually replaced some things that I thought they wouldn't. The MM act puts the burden of proof on the dealer. You might want to talk to your dealer...though they'll probably give you the standard "void warranty" speech...just bring up the MM act.
Anyway, just my opinion...everyone has them.

I agree... I can't see much difference... 2 drop bracket/cross members, a skid plate, spacers on the struts, lift blocks,.. looks pretty much the same for $900 more. I'm not knocking their product at all but i don't see how their lift could have any better or worse ride quality since they both maintain the factory geometry of the steering and suspension with the same factory struts.
you can run the 18" in the rear if you have the same diameter tire on it... not the easiest option if you get a flat on the front but doable.

Installation is expensive
If you have the tools and time to install a lift yourself do it , most places charge as much or more for labor than the kit it's self ..... I had to go with just a level cus I couldn't afford the extra 2 grand , it's still the best way to go if you have the $ ...

So I'm thinking 4 in lift with 33 in Mickey Thompson baja atz idk what rim the truck is black want 20s but up in the air still due to the fact everyone keeps saying about front end issues or that I'm paying 2300 bucks for the lift to be installed and I think black rims on black truck with chrome doesn't look good

Pricing on the lift will depend on your area. I live in Northern VA and installation cost ranged from $1500 to a case of beer. I ended up calling all over and found a shop (Trick Trucks) that was about an 1hr away that did my lift for $800. I paid $1178 OTD for the lift from Truck Add-ons, and $1400 OTD for my Toyo's from Rimzone. Alignment was $89 - but was included in the lift cost. One other thing they did for me was to swap the TPMS sensors from the OEM wheels to my new wheels...again all included.

this is completely subjective but I think 33's look too small on a 4 inch lift... especially since most 4 inch lifts end up being more like 4.5-5" of lift... the atz's aren't too aggressive and will make those 33's look even smaller IMO. (I'm not knocking the atz's or a/t's in general at all... everyone has different needs and m/t's aren't the best choice for road comfort... just that a less aggressive tire seems to look smaller than a more aggressive tire in the same size)
