Default 4" lift questions.

I have an 86 F-150 with a 4.9 inline 6.Got the truck for free with 110k miles on it.It's a 4X4 with a C6 tranny.3:73 rear end.Single cab Long bed.

Anyway.I was thinking about lifting it a little.I was looking at getting 3" add a leafs at the back to stiffen it up some and raise it a few inches.Plus I was looking at 4" coil springs for the front.

My question is,if I put on 4" lift coil springs on the front and then 3" add-a-leafs do I need anything else.I know I'm going to need different shocks to accommodate for the lift but is there anything else besides that.

I can get the coil springs,add-a-leafs and the shocks for $400 shipped. The only thing I don't like about the lift kits that are advertised is that they come with lift blocks and not add-a-leafs.I'd rather have the add-a-leafs because they'll give the back a little more support because this is going to be a quad/jeep hauler/work truck for me.

I'm only 15,my dad gave me the truck for free, said if I fixed it I could have it,got it running now I want to make it nice since I don't really have anything in it.Don't want to dump a ton of money in it.Just want to get the rust patched up,add a little lift, some 33's and make a nice bumper witha brush guard for it.

Thanks in advance.

if you put a suspension lift on, you'll need to buy camber keys to get the front alignment right.... i dont now for sure, but you might need extended brake lines for the front? that'll be something you can look into, if you do need them.... im not that familiar with your model truck, but i figured i would post since nobody else did.... 3.73 gears are perfect for 33s.... i have 3.55s in my truck and im pulling around 33s pretty good...

Thanks.I'll start a thread over there.I was going to do that to begin with but I know on other forums if you post in the wrong section you'll get a lot of complaints.

I just want to get all the work done while I still can't drive that way I don't have to mess with it when I could be out driving.
