I am dumb, didn't even think about 4 wheel drive. Therefore twice as much haha. You shouldn't have to change axles unless you change the center section for one with more splines. I would stay away from Yukon, we installed them several times in mustangs and had problems with every one of them. Now we use Ford gears or Moser for our racing stuff.

Probably because it was non stop hammering on them. They dont do that in trucks

Well I was eventually gonna do them down the road sometime, anyways. I figured I would go ahead and do them at the same time. If money is a issue then I will hold them off.

The ones we replaced were in street cars. They made tons of noise and were broken in and set up properly. In the race cars we don't worry about gear noise. You can't hear them over 588 cubic inches of BBF anyway. I take back my comment on Yukons, with 37's you won't ever hear noisy gears anyways lol

no. just unbolt the diff cover.

however if you go with a 456 or over they will have to modify your cross pin on the front 8.8 diff...any gear shop thats done them will know this...there probably more info you can google if ya wanna know..hard to explain on the net..

ive got about 15k miles on my yukon gears and ive beat the **** out of them..no problems. all about the install and break in!

I agree.

Transmission was not built to push 37" tires. Re-gear is the best thing you could do for your truck with adding 37"s.
