Okay. If you do mostly highway 4.56's will net your mpg increase as long as you dont stomp on it, keep your rpm's low. And theyll be lower on the highway. If you do all city. Id go 4.88's. The rpm will be higher on the highway, but the torque will help get the truck going ALOT easier between stoplights=engine not working as hard=better mpg.
Aka
Highway=lower number(4.56)
City/offroad=higher number(4.88)

I Like Tires
Look at my post at the end of the first page. A 4.88 will be like haveing a 4.10 on the highway with stock tires, actually it would be a little lower even.

I believe your best bet is 4.88's, and youve got a little more pep than stock off the line. Who said a lifted truck cant drag race???!!!
If i was you. Id go 4.88's with an aussie locker.

Either way you will be pretty happy. My question is how will gears be $1500? Does the $1500 include a locker? If so that is a pretty good deal, if not then he is screwing you....

To be honest with you, I have no clue. All I remember him telling me was, it is $1,500 total for everything I needed. He told me the new gears would replace the wheel bearings or hubs (something like that), that's all I remember.

gears are about about 450 - 500 front and rear... im assuming this is a 4x4,
labor will probably be 200-350 PER diff
and the since he said something about bearing im going to assuming he is using a minor/master install kit, which includes all new bearings, shims etc.
i paid about 3000 for mine installed.
but i went with a eaton e-locker in front and a eaton tru trac LS rear as well as yukon 456s and master install kits
