Take that chart with a grain of salt, my '06 5.4L auto trans has 3.55's and 33's and at 70 mph I'm taching about 1900-2000 so that chart is off a bit, but still a good rule of thumb. I would say go 4.10's with 35's if your truck is a DD or your do a lot of highway, and 4.56's if you want a more "all around" gear. Just my $0.02

I have 3.55 and 33" tires and my truck really lacks in the power department since upgrading tire size

It's not my DD, I have my little Honda for that..This is mainly for trails. It's on the highway for about <20miles..so I think I'll be ok :-) Thanks a million!

I hope you guys dont mind I jack your thread here but didnt think I needed to start a new one. I have a question...
I have a 2001 4X4 screw with the 5.7 and a 4 inch Procomp lift. I have 295/70/17 tires that measure 31.5 inches from top to bottom. Would these be considered "32's" if so would the 4.10 or would the 4.56 gears work better for me? It is not a daily driver but I use it to tow 2 large 3 seater Jetskis around Texas and although Texas is faily flat the lift and tire change has killed my power and fuel milage. With that being said I am mainly looking to get my power and fuel milage back to normal while towing. I have dual exaust, cold air intake and considering a programmer as well. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know for sure, but I would guess either 3.73 or 4.10's would be what you need for those tires, my truck is a 2006 and it had 32.5 inch tires on it from the factory with 3.73 gears, I have 35's on it now and was told by the local shop that I should go with 4.56's. They said that 4.10's wouldn't really make any improvements.

Hey I got a 2007 f150 with 33x12.5 and the gearing is all stock, how do I found what ratio it would be? Could I go to the dealer with the serial #?

On your drivers door, on the lowest sticker, bottom of the sticker it will say an axle code, mine is b6 for example which is 3.73 gears. If your code is different you can look it up online

The chart is for a 1-1 in the transmission with is third in auto transmission and fourth in 4, 5, 6 speed manual transmissions. auto transmission will be a little higher due to slippage in the transmission. the chart is set at 65 mph
