as everbody else said , theres nothing bad about a body lift , i had a 3" PA on my 99 f150 4wd....and yes they do make stuff alot easier to work on...... i dont understand why everbody hates on body lifts , ive had them on several trucks and they dont hurt anythang .......now for the chevy deal , chevys show alot of frame when u put a body lift on but Fords dont.
here it is with 35s on 16x10 black steel wheels.

I would say get a body lift from summitracing.com
get the summit brand not the performance accessories
i did a lot of research on body lifts when i was looking to buy one for my explorer. the reason was bc they don't make a body lift specific for new explorers. but anyways in my studies i discovered that the company that make PA brand also makes summit brand. the only difference in the kits is the box they come in. my body lift even came with PA instructions when i opened the box.

I to am also thing about putting a 3"body lift on my 2001 f-150 ext cab and had a few questions. How does it effect the ride, i am thinking about putting 35 x 12.5 on it, is it worth puting a leveling kit on too. And how will it drive with a load in the back of the bed. The only off roading i do is beach driving and i am goin to put a small pop up camper on it one day so it would way around 1500-1700 lbs. Also any one have good sugestions for 35 x 12.5(or 13.5) all terrian tires, all my driving is highway and off roading is on sand on the beach. Thanks for the help.

the BL won't have an affect on the way it rides but the tires will. i wouldn't put on a leveling kit if your going to be putting a camper in the rear bc the camper will weight the rear down and level it out. if you going to be doing primarily road driving you will want skinnier tires so that you get better gas milage. you can usually get all terrains that have a really good warranty. i would check out some BFG AT's or pro comps. if you want your tires to last a long time you have to make sure you keep them balanced and constantly.
