3.55 Gear Ratio?
 
Ok, I'm looking for some feed back on weather or not what I have is sufficient or not. I dont do a lot of hauling or towing but some. I just want to make sure that over time I wont be tearing up my transmission or anything else.
Could I get an explanation in simple terms from some of you out there that is way more experienced than I am.

This is what I'm running.
2010 F150 Kingranch 4X4 with a Pro Comp stage2 6" lift.
35 X 12.5 R20 tires
3.55 Gear Ratio

I can't answer the question as to weather or not keeping your stock gears will over time mess with your transmission. But I can tell you from experience on my personal trucks and as an installer that, you will love a lower gear ratio. I think 35's are the breaking point for needing lower gears. 4:10's would make you fall in love with your truck again. + it's bolt on horsepower from where your at now.

I would never run 35s with 3:55 gears. Get some 4:10s or 4:56, the 4:56 being better for hauling. 3:55s and 35s will murder your transmission in a short time man, not to mention your MPGs will go down in flames.

This is good to know as I have the 3:55's in my 2012 ecoboost and I'm planning on a 4"-6" lift in the spring. I am not sure what the best overall tires to use that will look good yet ride smooth in all situations.

I wonder that too. I'm running tires just short of 33, so I'm wondering how their hammering my transmission with the 3.55.

285/65/18- close to 33?

Im running 33s and 3:55s and its not terrible but you will lose any race you try lol (it is a pickup truck) and your gas milage will be about 10-12 city. If i go to 35s next ill deff go with 4:10s. Pulling the trailer i have to turn the overdrive off or it will downshift like the tranny has ADD or something

I had 3.08 and 285/70/17s talk about ****ty pulling power lol.

Oh my god, its bad enough to me withthe 3:55s maybe im just used to the 235s it had stock lmao. Ill prob just keep the 3:55s and 33s though. It looks right with the lift i have, not over stuffed, not too small. Looks like a 4x4 with cranked bars and 3" blocks

I want 3.73 just afraid of the MPG i will get... The biggest tire I MAY run is 33's. Wallet won't support 35's and 37's are a dream.
