Default mildly entertaining story/first time using tow straps

This is about my buddy getting his jeep stuck and me using my recovery strap for the first time since buying them 2 years ago.

So, after classes today we were bored and me a buddy of mine decided to do a trail run at a nearby trail/hangout spot. We walked out to our vehicles and picked up a couple other guys, got some food and then drove to the trail.

This trail is nothing serious, it's basically an old washed out rd that is now mostly sand/dirt. It has been raining a lot lately so there was a good amount of "mud" holes to play in.

To add to the context my buddies jeep has a 4" suspension and 2" body lift, with 33's. but it's a 4cyl. My truck has stock suspension and tires.

We were going along good and we passed the campfire/fishing spot and there was a f250 parked there with nobody in or around it. (that's for later)

After that there was a small hole, then one that was way deeper than I thought but I got through it no problem but decided to put my truck in 4wd after for good measure. The kid in his jeep opted to go around it. then there was an even bigger hole, my headlights went under water for a second, i'm lucky it wasn't deeper. The jeep went around that one too.

There was a bit of an opening so I pulled over, and decided to let the jeep to go first because it's kind of a POS and my truck is way nicer, so I decided to let him be the test dummy.
30 seconds later he hits a medium sized hole and gets his jeep stuck, then just digs it in.
He accepts his defeat and is absolutely pissed off, so naturally we started heckling him and mocking how he always says how good his jeep is off road.

Naturally his off-road built jeep doesn't have tow hooks in the back, and he was afraid thad the back bumper/tow hitch wouldn't be able to handle the stress. So, we tried driving around to the other side using a different trail that he said he knew, and ended back up at the exact same place.
So he decided to just go for it and use the bumper.
So I had him hook my tow strap up to his jeep I gave him the liability speech, and towed him out and it all went well, except he stalled his jeep 2 or three times in the process, but he does that all the time.

We turned around to head back, I told him that my truck would've made it through no problem, we both opted out the big *** holes on the way back.

While driving past the fire/fishing spot the owner of the f250 was there with another guy with a gmc jimmy the f250 was actually stuck and the owner walked out to get somebody to help him. I asked him if he needed any help and he said "if you tow me out I'll blaze you up!"(something like that) I declined his offer for weed but said I'd pull him out anyways. We, hooked up the tow strap for the second time that night and I gave him the liability speech, and his reaction was, bro, c'mon you know I wouldn't do that (in reference to suing me) then he gave me that reassuring handshake.
It was a little trickier pulling him out because we were going up-hill and I had to turn a little bit to stay on the trail, and his truck was a crew cab 8' bed but we got him out.
He thanked me a bunch of times and we went on our way out.

Throughout the rest of the night we antagonized my buddy and his jeep primarily via snapchat. We stopped at a gas station, we sent him snapchats saying "stops at gas station, get stuck" and while washing some of the mud off "washing jeep, gets stuck" of coarse I kept telling him that my truck would've cruised right through. It's funny because he gets wicked pissed off if you say anything bad about jeeps.
Then his jeep wouldn't start at the gas station because his battery ground is pretty much rusted away. He just had to jiggle the wires a little bit, still funny though.

All in all we had a great little adventure in the woods, and I finally got to use my tow strap after sitting in my truck for two years, twice in one night! I was pretty excited about that. And, I got to bash on my buddy and his jeep the whole night! As another point about the jeep to make fun of, the exhaust sounds like someone using a weed whacker, the engine and the whooshing of the string/blade.
I just thought I'd share this, hopefully someone will get a kick out of it. I know we all like to make fun of other peoples vehicles, jokingly of-coarse.

Hahaha awesome, I had a buddy pull my f150 out of a ditch last weekend with his little jeep. My truck is still way better though!

Lol. My cousin said the same thing about his jeep with a 6" lift and 35's. Kept telling me how bad *** it was. Ran circles around him after he got stuck in my old 09 2WD RCLB 4.6. I love it when people insert foot into their mouths. And camera phones get the evidence. Haha.

My roommate got a nice picture of the kid looking sad at what he had done, as well as the kid who was riding with him. Unfortunately I can't seem to screenshot it. The jeep does have me in turning radius though. He was able to do a 3 point turn to turn around, I had to back up until there was a wide enough space.

On trails like you describe, theyre probably about even. If the jeep is set up right (i.e. you dont need 6" of lift for 33s) and you go hit some harder trails where you need the articulation then the f150 doesnt stand a chance, raptor or not. But it does depend a lot on what model of wrangler/cj youre talking about as theyre vastly different.
I had a 2014 JK 4-door with a 2.5" lift running 37s and front/rear lockers. It was absolutely amazing offroad and the articulation was nuts.
That being said, i traded the jeep in on my F-150 and wouldnt go back. Even though I lost my *** on the trade.

I just think its silly to think the f150 is a better off-road vehicle than a jeep. Assuming theyre modified and driven right.

Cool story though, i need to get out wheelin again. I have a little buggy now which is why i got rid of the jeep for something more comfortable.
