2014 F150 XLT 4x4 Issue
This past week was the first time I have had to use my 4 wheel drive. I had some trouble getting up an icy hill with my 2 wheel drive engaged and so when I switched to 4 wheel drive. When this happened, I heard this sound from the front axle area (my guess). I made it up the hill and when I switched back to 2 wheel drive, it was nice and smooth. Since then tho, my steering has felt a little harder in the turning and my acceleration feels like I have to push the pedal in harder. I was getting the same mileage but today I noticed my gas mileage down 2-3. I could paranoid in the fact it's a brand new truck, but it feels different. Anybody else experience these same issue after using the 4 wheel drive for the first time?

I hate to say it, but it's probably in your head. There is something you can check though.
when you shifted back to 2wd, did the truck say "shift in progress", and then display the small "4x2" light on the info screen? That indicates that your transfer case has completed the shift. The only other thing that could remain locked in is one or both of the hubs.
To check those, with the truck RUNNING, in 2wd, in park with the parking brake on, reach behind each of the front wheels, and see if you can turn each of the C.V. shafts. you should be able to turn both. If not, one or both hubs aren't unlocking.
Then, again in 2wd, grab the front drive shaft, and make sure you can turn that too.
If all that stuff turns in 2wd, you don't have a problem

I will definitely try this and check it out. Thanks for the tip. I'm hoping its in my head. It's been some time since I have had a new truck and so I just baby it too much I suppose.
