Should my front wheels be disengaged from the front axle in 2 high? Today I heard a strange noise in my front end. The only thing I can find is when the left front wheel is jacked off the ground the wheel is hard to turn and the front drive shaft turns.

More than likely its the left IWE (integrated wheel end). They are vacuum operated and if there is a leak the front will be locked on whatever side it is leaking.
