Default 2012 4wd switch on my 2011 FX4?

I just purchased a 2011 Fx4 Ecoboost F1fiddy and my father has a 2012 Ecoboost Fx4. My question is his 2012 can select the rear locker in 2wd. mine can only be selected in 4wd. I would assume the switch would mount the same and the connectors is identical? if anybody has done this I would appreciate any input.

nope the computer wont recognize just the switch i.e. it wont engage the locker in 2wd. So you'd need the module. Silly I know, you would think it'd just be a power wire ran straight to a relay to power the locker and a light on the dash but thats not the case. You could also just hot wire the locker up to a switch on the dash and get locker use in 2wd that way. Plus you wouldn't have any of the other limitations of the stock switch. You would I believe lose the light on the dash though.

On 2011's, a 2011 Raptor TCCM (transfer case control module) + 2012 regular F150 dash switch = rear locker in 2WD if you already have a locker. TCCM is about $60 new from a OEM parts discounter.
