Default 17" wheels with lift kit?

Hello all. I'm wanting to put a lift kit on my 2014 XL 4x4 and I've already bought some aftermarket wheels that are 17". My question is that if I put the lift kit on, will I have to buy more wheels too? I'd appreciate any feedback, thanks!

No, not necessarily. The width will be the limiting factor. If your wheels are 8" wide or greater you can run a 12.5" wide tire.

I can only attest to Rough Country lifts as that is what I have and the answer is no, it will not work with any rim size less than 18".

What are the offset and backspacing on your wheels?

What lift kit are you going with?

Interesting thread for me too.

Was about to buy a pro comp k4143b 6" lift kit.

By chance notice on Internet, minimum wheel diameter of 18".

I have 17x9 4.75" backspace and minus 6 offset.

I'm now a bit lost

Edit. I'm going from 2.5" level to 6" lift, because the bracket that protects the transmission is like an anchor when driving over sand dunes. Want to keep 17"wheels and go up from 285.70x17 to 315.70x17 tires.

hey DXB, those are the same measurements for my wheels too. I have the ProComp 7089's in black. I don't think they will work though with that big of a lift because of the new control arms that come with it. The 17's won't clear them.

Hi, I have asked local shop to speak to Pro Comp. When shop tell me what Pro Comp say, I will post reply to your thread.

I wonder if more experienced forum members have any advice regarding this?

Hey there DXB, no worries here! My wheel specs are 17x9 with a -6 offset. Decided to pass on the lift, bought some 34's and its tall enough and rides nice for my liking. Thanks though!
