Default 08' Minimum lift for 35s?

hoping with the cold canadian winters to upgrade tires. at this point im using 32' street tires and they are nice but want them to be more capable offroad.

main question is with 35s or 37s what would be the smallest lift i should look into, respectively. if i can fit with a small lift (hoping like 1.5" front or so only...) will they rub horribly up front if i trim as much out as possible before frame?

third small question, anyone ever heard of trimmed body panels? like when you cut the arch bigger along the stock body line/flare of the stylesides.

Ps. i would regear to a mid 4.XX, upgrade brakes, hubs, etc so it will still stop and be safe long term as a daily. pictures are of a newer truck that managed only a 1.5" front level he states and basically took out front inner fenders... mines an 08 white regular cab 6ft bed STX

Id get the leveling kit and blocks in the back. Im sure the 35s will fit. May rub but if you trimmed it youll be ok.

2.5 inch level and you don't have to do much trimming, if at all. None if you have aftermarket wheels.

Was hoping factory... now on mobile i can post pic of my truck with 28 and 32" tires... hopedfor stock wheels painted but can upgrade if needed.

Heres the rear on 32"s... plenty of room i figure. The other pictures are acting up

With fiberglass fenders with no inners and bumper trimming you can run a 37 with the right offset at stock ride height.

Why not just buy a 2.5 inch level and put 35's on stock wheels? They'll rub at full turn of the wheels simply because of the offset but other then that they're fine. I don't like aftermarket wheels so I kept my stock ones. A 2.5 inch level will still give you that stuffed look that you want but it'll be a fairly big truck as well. Best of both worlds. Here's mine

hoped for stock front and lowered to level rear to be honest... but with 33s everywhere, i cant help but want 35s for a lowered stanced monstertruck look... planned to keep oem stx aluminum wheels and see if they rub much, then MAYBE get wheels if need be

by th eway, badass truck, got a 98' lightning clone myself... it died and so i picked up the 08 in the same setup without stepsides since apparently they are hard to find

Yeah, I haven't seen many 04-08 stepsides at all.

More height = more ground clearance = more capable offroad.

The ideal setup would be a 4 inch suspension lift and 35's and a 2.5 inch level would be next. The level will wear out your front end parts a lot faster but it's also far cheaper. If you're not sure about keeping the truck long term it's probably a good option.

Hoping to pass it to my brother in 2-3 years... and ground clearance is fine, but the axle with scrape before frame... if it comes down to it i can always add more... like lift spindles and blocks. Guess ill try a 2.5" first. Thanks guys
