make sure you get all the right bulbs too, cause i used the article above^^ and my 99 used all 74 sized bulbs instead of the 74 and 126 bulbs or what ever they are

To anyone and everyone who has done this mod and has the default red needles.....
How the heck did you get yours to even remotely glow? Mine are dead in the dark, can't see them at all and I have used the 5LED on one bulb in all my replacements so there's a ton of light. Dam needles are just dead. I even drilled 2-4 small pilot holes in underside of the needles thinking that would help with more light.
Short of having to buy a needle set for $55 bucks (i can so think of other things to spend that money on), does anyone have any suggestions?

Cruise control I'll be working on after I'm done with my headlight/ac switches.

before putting the gauges back on you might want to try putting scotch tape or something on the back to reduce the hot spots... it helped out a little bit on mine but i probably coulda done a better job

Wow, what year is your truck? Mine, 05, doesn't have bulbs. It takes PLCC-2 LEDs which have to be soldered on and I have no green stuff to remove, it's all clear.

mines a 99, i took the a/c control out and it has two twist lock bulbs just like in the dash but bigger it the back it, dont even have to take anything else apart to get to them. but to take the green out of the dials, i had to remove them, take a cube of plastic of out of them and use a knife to scrape the green off of it, then for the words(def, floor, panel, etc) i had to pop the cover off the main part and a green tinted piece just fell out of it. didnt even have to use any alcohol to remove it.
