ok so i have a question for all you guys who have disassembled your gauges.
On the led odometer display what does that particular light look like? And can it be replaced? I am partial to my stock colors but my odometer gauge light went out and Ford wants like 350 dollars to replace it and they have to keep my truck for a week supposedly? Any insight?

hahahaha, It's a #74 bulb that you can replace yourself either with a normal clear bulb or a different LED color.

Ahhh ok. I ended up ordering 3 of these for the main 3 in the center and 1 behind the message center:

and then 4 of these behind each gauge:

and 2 of these for each turn indicator:

mewaschuk - Yes he removed the green tint. If he didn't it would be aqua color instead of the bright blue.

You actually did not have to remove the green overlay. According to the How-To in another forum the factory tint is actually blue, but the incandescent bulbs emit a yellow light making it green instead of blue. Really all you have to do is replace the incandescents with white LEDs and it will save you a ton of trouble rubbing the tint off, and you will still get the blue look. If you dont believe me here is the link. http://www.f150online.com/forums/art...r-97-03-a.html

This only applies to 97 and 98 models. Ford switched over to a factory green tint on the 99-03s.

make sure you get all the right bulbs too, cause i used the article above^^ and my 99 used all 74 sized bulbs instead of the 74 and 126 bulbs or what ever they are
