Wheel offset for 4X4
I have heard that 4X4 trucks require wheels with a certain amount of offset, is this true? I am new to the community and I am a proud owner of a 2005 F-150 Supercab (Black on Black with all the fixins). I was looking to upgrade to a black rim with a chrome lip but I wanted to stay at 18" and add a little more aggressive tires. Does anyone have suggestions as far as wheel/tire combos? I drive my truck everyday and only go offroad during hunting season so a lift kit with Thornbirds or Super Swampers is out of the question. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

if you are all black stay with a chrome wheel the black wheels tend to make your truck look a little smaller for some reason, as for wheels Look on ebay they have the best deals I just picked up a set of chrome crater american racing wheels for $588.00 shipped. if you want wheels it is the back spacing you need to worry about, offset is the where the bolt pad is in relationship to the middle of the rim. if you are looking for tires take a peek at the kumho road venture MTKL71s. they NICE. I just got a set of 315s

I'm new in the truck community as well, but when I was looking for wheels I think it was Moto Metal that has some decent looking black rims to throw on some more aggressive tires. Good luck.
