Default What wheel size is best?

Aside from looks, is there any benefit in having 20” rims? I prefer the look of more sidewall, and I also prefer the price of smaller radius tires. My 2007 FX4 has stock 20’s. If I choose to go smaller, will I be causing anything detrimental? If not, how small can I go? I also plan to lift the truck in the future.

The smaller wheels will ride better b/c the tires will have more side wall.

With the newer trucks you can down to a 17" wheel with the perfect backspacing, although with most wheels you can only go down to an 18" that will fit and not rub on the rear brakes.

Thanks! That helps me out a bunch. The price of 18" tires is a whole lot friendlier than the price of 20" tires.

I Have A 2005 F 150 4x4 And The Tire Shop Told Me That The Smallest Rim That I Could Put On It Without Interfering With The Brakes Would Be A 17 Inch. I Tried For A 16 Inch,, But They Said That There Is No Way That A 16 Would Fit... Good Luck To You!!
