I will soon be in the market for new tires, to replace the factory Michelin tires.
2014 f150 xlt super crewcab 2wd with the 5.0L coyote.
I have about 30K on the factory tires and i'm starting to notice a harder bumpier ride.
Anyone have have experienced with the baja atz p3 ??? will LT305/60R18 (32.6 overall dia) fit with stock suspension or will i need a leveling kit. The tires are heavy in my opinion @65lbs each.

Well I asked Treadwright for the weight of the 285/70-17, and they said 58 lbs. There's no way. Tires in that size are 58 lbs. when new. So after Treadwright does their process to them, which is widely known to add 8-12 lbs. per tire, you're looking at something closer to 70 lbs. So the weight is an issue.
But here's my other beef with Treadwright. About ten years ago when I started running them on my Jeeps, you could save about 40% over the cost of buying a "new" set of tires. That has changed. Now, you end up paying the same, or more for these used Treadwright tires than you would a new set.
Today I looked at Discount Tire Direct's website, pulled up 3 of the most popular modern AT tires in the same 285/70-17 size, and put them in a spreadsheet compared to a set of Treadwright Warden tires. After discounts and rebates, ALL of the new tires came out cheaper per tire than the Treadwright. This is with shipping included. Cooper AT3, Hankook ATm, Falken Wildpeak A/T3W...many new tires are less money.
So, why as a consumer would I buy a heavier tire with a less effective outdated tread pattern that is built on a used carcass and pay MORE money for it? It's a real shame but I just don't think Treadwright tires are a value anymore. They've sort of shot themselves in the foot.
And don't bother questioning it on their FB page, they'll just delete it. If you're in the market for tires, do your research before assuming you're saving money with used tires.

Update on Cooper AT3s
Cooper Discovery AT3 I ran two sets of these on a 99 Explorer and they worked so well that I put 275/55R20s on my 2013 F150
As of today I have 106,000 miles on this set of Coopers. I’m am about to buy another set of these tires. My truck have been driven thru the aftermath of two hurricanes, the aftermath of a tornado, high water situations, ice storms and snow and most recently roadways covered with about a foot of drifting, blowing sand due to Barry. These tires never skipped a beat and with acceptable tread,(3 year old tires with 60,000+ miles on them). Low road noise, great tread life and only two plugs need due to a screw puncture and 16 penny nail puncture. Coopers going on next payday. I have got 65,000 plus out of this set, just say!

Just put Michelins on my 13, no quieter than the original Bridgestones. I think the initial ride of the Bridgestones were quieter and better.

Pro Comp Extreme MT2 (too loud for me)
I have the 35x12.50R20 Pro Comp Extreme MT2 on my lifted 2016 F150 4x4 3.5L Ecoboost 157" Platinum.
Pro - Aggressive styling, great looks
Cons - Super noisy at speed
Mrs. Gunner and I took our first long trip with the new truck this weekend and these tires do some singing (read screaming ) when you get above 70 mph. Around town and up to 60 or 65 they aren't so bad, but we have the privilege of having I-130 (toll road around Austin) which has a legal speed limit of 85 mph, yes you read that right - it is legal to drive 85 in the Great State of Texas!! Holy fudgsicle do these things make noise....
I'm going to find an AT or RT tire to replace these with and sell them on Craigslist to ease some of the pain.

Cooper Adventurer A/T (similar to Discoverer)
Just had Cooper Adventurer A/Ts installed at Pep Boys. Kind of like the Discoverer AT3. I was actually shopping for the lowest price on the AT3 when I came across these.
Cooper makes specific tires for different retailers, but it makes sense they have some that are very similar. I'm no chemist so I can't speak to the difference in compounds. But with the buy 3 get 1 free deal they had going I thought they are probably close enough. Hope so anyway!! $820 plus a $70 mail in rebate, including mounting and alignment. LT275/65R18.
Too new to give much of a review, but I couldn't tell a difference in road noise from the factory Goodyears.
I could tell a bit of a difference in ride stiffness since I went with a LT load E. Not enough to make me regret it, but I could feel it over some washboard spots in the road.
They are a bit deceptive with the tread depth. In a good way. The tread is deeper than it looks in the pictures.
I'll update this after I put a few thousand miles on them and put them through the paces. Happy with them so far at the 50 mile mark...

Can't decide!
I'm looking to replace my OEM Goodyear Wrangler 275/65R18 tires (only 9000 miles) for something bigger on my 2015 F150 4x4 XLT Crewcab, w/leveling kit but no lift. I'm looking at something in the LT275/70R18 size. Possibly Goodyear Fierce Attitude or Duratrax. I had 35" Toyo MT's on my F350 Powerstroke which I could hardly hear because I had a muffler delete on the diesel. But now I'm worried about the noise and ride (not to mention fuel mileage). I've had BFG AT's before but they seem a bit high priced and didn't last very long for the price. My tire shop is trying to sell me either General Grabber X3 (cheaper then the Goodyears) or Cooper STT Pro's (more expense). I don't drive off-road much, only at the hunting camp, but love the look of the more aggressive tires. I know I'll be sacrificing fuel mileage and my speedo will be off a bit but that's something I can live with. Anyone with any experience with either tire would really help with my decision. Thanks in advance.
