Have had a set of BFG Rugged Terrain 10-plys on my 2011 for around 55k. Still have some life which is impressive, but they've been cupped horribly for the last 25k and have been rotated regularly. Sound like tractor tires on the highway. Cannot wait for them to finally wear out.

Your two issues are to be expected with an M/T... They get louder.. Trust me.. I've learned that at around 45-60 degrees out they really howl... Other than that their quiet..

Mileage drop: trails are heavy 70-80lbs+.... They why you dont put M/T and mileage together.. You wont enjoy mileage gains and performance..

Default Toyo AT II

Started running Toyo AT II Extremes in 285/55/20 on my stock FX4 wheels a couple months ago. There is a noise increase, but really nothing compared to what I've experienced with BFG ATs, and of course you feel the bumps a little more (although not much at 38psi). I'm completely satisfied with the way they shed mud - which was the reason for getting rid of the stock Pirellis. Yes, they're heavy, but I've noticed only a small decrease in mileage both on the highway and around town.

The Toyo's are not cheap, but then again nothing in that range is. Discount price matched the best price I could find and had them next day. If I get 50k out of them as warranted, Toyo will have a new customer for life.

Just got BFG AT KO 275/65/20 with rockstar IIs on my 2012 FX4. Im very happy with the look. Wanted taller tire to fill wheel well as opposed to wider. Tires are very grippy and sticky with a tad more noise compared to wore out wranglers that were on it. I will post pics when battery charges on camera

Howdy-

I have Nitto Trail Grapplers in a 275/70/18 size and for the life of me, I can't seem to find the correct weight of this tire online! I see from 35 (ridiculous!) to 80lbs, I'm guessing it's about 70lbs but not entirely sure. I'm trying to figure out the weight so that I can replace them with something much lighter.. possibly going back to a stock height tire to regain some MPG back. Any ideas?

I'm considering a P rated tire for my next purchase since I'm not loading this truck down like I used too.

EDIT: 275/70/18 Nitto Trails weight in at 66lbs each.

I think Nitto hides the info thinking people would avoid their product.

Maybe so.. As you are seeing... Lots of folks are seeking a lighter tire... 81lbs a tire is heavy... 324lbs for tires.. Maybe another 200-300lbs in Wheel.. That's a lot of rolling force..
