Talking Terra Grappler G2 vs. BFG AT KO2

Hey all,
I recently mad up my mind that I'm going with 285/65r20 on my OEM 20's for my 08 4x4 with 2.5" level. In this size, you are very limited in your selection, the only two real competitors for me are the Terra Grappler G2 and the BFG AT KO2. I know both of these tires have gotten some amazing reviews. Just wanted to see who has them, or who has opinions of one vs the other. As always, bring on all the pics!

I would seriously recommend you go with the 275/65R20. It's stock on Super Duties so tire shops will keep them in stock and since they are a more common size the prices are much more reasonable. You aren't even gaining a 1/2" increase in width with the 285.

With the two options you presented however the G2 would be my suggestion since it comes with a mileage warranty. IMO the KO2 would perform better but if you mostly drive highway get something with a guarantee.

From my understanding it wouldn't be a sacrifice in width alone, but going from a 285/65r20 to a 275/65r20 would also result in a decrease in diameter over almost an inch.

Diameter would decrease by .51"

275/65R20 34.07" tall
285/65R20 34.58" tall

It's up too you, just wanted to warn you of the minute differences before you spend a crap ton more per tire. If you are wanting to squeeze out every bit of height you can, then the 285 is the way to go. But for ease of replacing the tire in a pinch and the much lower price the 275 would be my suggestion. I guarantee you would hardly be able to tell the difference once mounted so you just have to decide if they are worth the nearly extra $100 a tire.

No, a 285/65/20 is 34.6 in diameter. 275/65/20 is 34.1". About half an inch shorter.

I haven't tried the G2, but the KO2 is awesome. I am impressed with its ice and snow capabilities, after running them this winter. Not sure if that's a factor for you or not.

I wouldn't worry about mileage warranty, BFG is very good for standing behind their products. I had a quick look, and it appears they offer a 6 year warranty against tire defects. I know you'll be happy with the KO2.

Not the size you're interested in (these are 35x12.50R18), but.....

Are those 12.5x35s on stock vehicle without lift or leveling kit? Or?

BTW, I've had Terra Grapplers for nearly 6 years (one set) and put on about 32K miles so far. About to change out and likely going with Grapplers again. They've been great.

No, to fit those, you need a 2" level, and cut the corner of the front bumper valence. We did 2" front level, and 3" rear block on that truck.

I have the 285/65/20 k02, and it's the best at tire I have owned so far. Extemely smooth and quiet, agrressive looks and excellent in snow.
