Suggestions for Duratrac Tire Size
I'm going to be getting a set of Wrangler Duratracs in the near future. I'm debating what size to put on.
I don't want to go too big and affect my speedometer and fuel economy too much. I saw truck on here with 285/70/R17 that looked pretty good. I'm not sure how much effect this would have on my speedo and economy.
A guy at work has rugged trail tires in 265/75/R17 and they look significantly bigger than mine.
My truck is a 2013, 5.0L screw. It has a levelling kit installed by the dealer which I was told is a 2.5" front, 3" rear. Current tire size is 245/75/R17
What would you guys suggest for tire size? Oh, and I'm keeping the current rims for now as well.
Here's a pic of how the truck sits now. Fairly obvious I need larger tires. LOL

I'm looking at ....
I'm lookin at either Toyo at 2s extreme in a 285/75/17 (34x11.5) for my 2013 just like yours but mine is short bed and I blacked out my grill .... I want the axel clearance of 34" tires but they are wider than I want , wider rides better and looks better but are hard on mpgs ... I would rather go w/ 275 /75/17 but nobody makes that size ... So if you are lookin to keep mpgs decent go with a skinner taller tire if you can .... 17" wheels don't have many options other than taller and wider .... Wish I had 18"s ? ... I would have already bought 275/75/18's plenty of options in 18's ....
Another option is 255/80/17 (33x10) or also 285/70/17 ( 33x11.5) looks like Toyo is the best choice for me ...
Once I find a good price I'm buying a set ..

I went stock size except I've got the 20" rims (less than a half inch larger than your tires according to the math). I didn't want to bother fixing the speedo for the time being. One day--probably after warranty--I'll upsize the tires but I've found the Duratracs look pretty decent even at stock size. It gives the illusion of being slightly larger than it actually is, probably due to the tread patter and side biters.
