Spotless spray wheel cleaner
Has anybody used this before? I've seen several brands advertised. Meguire's and Mothers for instance. Since my back has gotten really bad now. I don't clean and polish my truck the way I like to. I can't bend over to well, especially with a back brace. So cleaning my chrome rims and tires is very difficult. So I was wondering if these spray cleaners that advertise no spots really work. I went to Pep Boys to see what they had. Meguire's of course, Mothers, I think Turtlewax had something. I saw several types for different styles of rims. Chrome, Gunmetal, Aluminum, Painted, etc.. They were like 8.00-10.00 bucks a spray bottle. Mothers had a foaming spotless wheel and tire cleaner. So I bought it to try. Once I got home and had lunch I went to the truck to try it. It said spray on liberally, let sit for 15 secs. and rinse off. That's it. I have 18" KMC Skitch chrome rims. I gave them a good waxing this spring before I put them on. I try to at least keep them dusted off, and I usually don't go out in rainy weather. So they weren't that bad. Mostly had brake dust on the inner side of the rims and the outside was soiled but not like black or brown. just not very shiny. And the white lettering was a little dull but not horrible. So, I sprayed one rim/tire very well and let it sit for about 1 minute. In reality, the foam sprays sparsely. So by the time I was done spraying, it was about time to rinse. I rinsed and watched it for a moment before moving on to the next rim. The water was shedding off it pretty well. So I finished the rest of the rims. Took me about 15 mins. to do them all. Surprise, Surprise. Most of the water did shed off the rims. And they were nice and shiny. Not perfect, but looked nice and shiny. The white lettering looked good too. Overall it worked very nice. But, the one flaw I saw right away, I was barely able to do all four rims/tires. The bottle was empty when I was through. So I can't see myself doing it every week. But in between a real good wash and shine I think it will work well.. So That's my take.
