I just bought a set, 285/70/17. They look pretty sweet, kind of a highway tread with some off-road influence and the same cool lightning bolt sidewall as the terras. Does anyone have any experience with these and know how they last and perform on road and off?

I think they're kinda new. They cost about the same as the grapplers but on these NTB had a buy 2 get 2 free thing going on that made the price $803 for 4 285/75/17s out the door with hazard insurance, lifetime balances and alignments for a year.

They're more agressive then they look in the pictures and some reviews said they perform pretty well in like mild off road turf which is all I need, but they're geared more towards highway driving.

I got a set about 2 weeks ago and have about 300 miles on them now. I noticed today that at about 65 mph on concrete roadway they are very noisy like a high pitch whistle. Other than that they are very quiet and smooth riding. I was going to get the terras but these were $20 cheaper a piece and figured I would give them a shoot, since most people have good things to say about Nitto. I will have a more in-depth review in 2 weeks since I live for a 3600 mile road trip in a day. So stay tuned.

Cool man. They seem like they'll be smooth and quiet. A lot of tires whine on concrete so that doesn't really bother me. I just mounted mine tonight, they look pretty nice. Balanced awesome, the wheel with the most weight on it only had 3 ounces total. That's pretty good for 33s.

I just ordered a set of Crosstek as well for my FX4. They actually were about $200 cheaper than Terra Grappler that I orginally asked for. They look similar from just looking at them but the tread is obvioulsy very different. I love the idea of grappler but reality of it is I end up in the mud in the woods much less than I like to think. Meanhwile the more street-freindly tread on the Crosstek looks to save me gas mileage, less noise, and better ride than Grappler's but still have a somewhat aggressive overal appearance. Tough call really on which to go with...guess I'm getting old and went w/ the more economical / sensible tire. Ha.

PS: I'll update my opinion of them once they are on next week & we go camping in the woods and ride some trails.

Everything I read said they're pretty good with mild off roading. Probably not gonna get through a foot of mud with them but I'm like you, 99% of the time I'm on the highway. And hey I'm 22, and saving money is always the sensible thing to do. It's got nothing to do with getting old.

I just got my Nitto Crosstek put on the other day. I am stoked with way it turned out. They look more aggressive in real life than the website pics. I went 1 click up on the size but otherwise not much difference. They ride almost as good as the street tires I had before (maybe slightly stiffer?...but that could be air pressure thing) They track well, no noise at all, handle just fine in rain and tread is impressive for what it is. I haven't gone off road yet but the tread on these is way better than my old tires and they were just plain street tires and I never got stuck even with those.

Overall for the price I am very happy with them. Merchants is doing a pretty good deal on them since it's their propriety thing w/ Nitto.

Nice. Yeah the tread is a lot more agressive than it looks online, I really like the sidewalls too. Mine are E rated so yours probably are too, that is what would cause a stiffer ride.
