Default New wheels and tires

I am new to the forum. I have a 2011 f150 xlt 4x4 17in wheels with a 2in HBS leveling kit. I am going to get some 18x9 ballistic anvils with 275-70-18 bfg ta ko tires. The specs for the tires say they will fit up to a 8.5in wheel. Am I going to have trouble with putting them on a 9in wheel? I don't wanna have to buy 285's. And I'm also wondering about offset it come in 12,0, or -12. I want them to stick out a hair but not to much. Haven't seen many trucks with 275 tires. Thanks for the help

I would say you will be fine with the 275s fitting the 9" wheel. And with the offset, depending if you have fender flares or not, a 0mm offset will sit flush with the edge of the fender well without fender flares. A -12mm offset will stick out 1-2in. Hope this helps.

0 offset does not meant that it will sit flush with the fender. offset is another way to look at back spacing measurements. With a 9" wheel and 0 offest you are looking at 4.5" of backspacing which means that you have 1" less backspacing over stock, making the wheels poke out 1" more than stock and if your stock wheels are a 18x7.5 that means that you will gain another 3/4" of width. So effectively you will be 1.75" wider on each side. Personally, I like that kind of look but if you dont want them sticking out that far go with the +12mm offset.

i have the same problem, i have a leveled f150 2000 4x4 and i have 17x8 rims with 265/75/17 AT tires, i need new tires soon and i plan on getting terra grapps, but a tire guy said the biggest i could go is a 285/70 which is only a little over .5in wider and almost identical height...... the tires on there now need to be about an inch taller while keeping the width under 11.5 if possible.....
