Default Need help: 18×9, 0 offset v/s 17×9, -12 offsets

I don't tow or haul anything other than recreational once or twice a week in the summer I pull a boat.

I want the tires to stick out but I am wondering if -12 offset will affect too much?

Thoughts?

-12mm is very common in 9" wheels. It would stick out 1/2" more than the 0 offset (per wheel) so enough to notice a difference for sure, but not to big of a difference as far as what will fit without rubbing something.

I think the pro-comps are overpriced myself and aren't the best selection for a vehicle that doesn't see mostly Offroad use.
