Kanati Trail Hog
I came across a full set on Ebay for less than $800 shipped and took the risk. I've read some reviews, that I could find, and they're all positive, little noisy but that was the only knock against them.
I got them in 275/70/18 - I shouldn't have any rubbing issues should I? Really don't feel like installing a leveling kit when its 100 degrees right now.
I should have them in and installed sometime next week.

Received the tires on Tuesday and had the mounted/balanced that afternoon. I've only got about 100 miles on them so far but no complaints at this point. There is a slight hum once at speed, barely noticeable but we'll see how they do with more miles. They look an awful lot like the Goodyear Duratracs IMO. Speedo seems to be right on after checking as well even though these are 1" taller tire.

A quick update on the tires.
They ride smooth, there is a little bit of a hum and they've wrecked my mpg. I hand calculate all fill ups and I've got almost 1K miles on these and they're wearing fine but with the trips I've taken I know I should get about 15.5mpg and almost 18mpg, with the new tires the fill ups were 13.8 and 15 respectively. Really surprised at the significant drop in mileage with these. The website shows a weight of 57lbs a tire, up from 39 for the OEM Goodyears and a tad over 1" taller; my speedo shows to be correct when testing with a few different apps to to track vehicle speed also.
The fill up before I put these on I logged almost 19 mpg. I did take off the front lower valance at the same time but from the many posts I've read no one seems to experience a loss in mpg so it has to be the tires. Nothing else has changed.
I drive anywhere from 25K-35K miles a year depending on where I'm hunting so I think I'm going try to sell these unless I find the cause to be something else.
If you want an aggressive all-terrain and don't worry about mpg then these are great, especially at less than $200 a tire.

from my previous reading, 1 lb of rotating mass = 10 lbs of "static mass". So essentially you're driving around on stock tires with 720 lbs in the back. Add to that the more aggressive thread, and there goes your mpg difference...
There's a reason why I have spent 3 months agonizing on winter tires, weight (and thus mileage) is a big consideration for me.

I'm going to put the lower valance back on and see if it makes any noticeable difference before I spend the money on yet another set of tires.

well, did some more quick reading... the 1 to 10 ratio might be a little much, but more rotational weight surely doesn't help.
I wouldn't bother with the lower valence, many people have taken it off and / or put it back with no noticeable difference one way or the other...

I had these on my last truck and they looked awesome and ride good. My mileage went to hell as soon as they were installed. The lifted crewcab, long bed on 35" mud terrains with a 36 gallon tank was killing me. If they were on a non daily driver they would be a great set up.

Did you go back to stock as well?
