Default Going from 235/55/17 to 265/70/17, anyone else do it

I have the factory hankook's on my 2011 that are in need of replacing. Since im buying out my truck im going to get new tires soon. Im set on Goodyear Duratracs or Bridgestone duelle a/t revo 2's in 265/70/17. Has anyone else upgraded from the factor hankooks to another size that isn't a huge increase in size? Has anyone experienced any noticeable mpg drop, i mean more than 2 mpg.

That's a big jump from a 27" tall tire to a 32' tire, so I'm sure your mpg will drop. My 2010 XLT 4x4 with a 4.6 engine and 3.73 rear end came from the factory with 265/70/17 tires and I can get 21 mpg on a relatively flat highway @ 65 mph. I get 17 mpg pretty regularly with 2/3 of the miles highway, and 1/3 city driving.

235/75/17 is way different from the 235/55/17 that is in the thread heading. You probably won't even notice a difference going to 265s.

yeah I agree...the older fords had smaller tires...but so did most trucks...and I have noticed that the tire size on trucks increase about 2 inches every new gen that's released...but anyways yeah u will hardly notice a difference at all...u would have to go to some 33 or 35 to actually make some changes to ur truck

I just moved to 265/70/17 Hankook dynapro ATM more aggressive tread but yet it's quieter on the highway than the dynapro AT's. The 235 are ridiculous but these new tires are fantastic.
