So, a back tire takes a nail today on the sidewall. I've got Bridgestones.
I go to a Firestone shop and the dude says he can change my tire, but due to the black rims being powdercoated, he can't do it without scratching the rim
I asked him if he was joking and he said no. I left. I'll ride the spare till i can find someone.
We're they being lazy or is there no way to change the tire without damaging the rim

When I got my tires on I asked the truck shop about that when they were going to be installed his response ; " sir this isn't Americas tire or firestone, we have the right tools needed to NOT scratch the rims"
Then proceeded to tell me they have special adaption prices that are ceramic coated to prevent any form of scratching. Sure was right not a single scratch when I pickup the truck. On both sets of rims the raptor takeoffs and my 20 fx4 smoked rims.

total BS
I have a set of 23" Saleens on my truck.
My shop has 1 guy ONLY who mounted my tires and fixed a nail for me. No one else is allowed to. It is difficult, but totally possible.
NO marks- not one. PERFECT work.
How could anyone even mount tires then, without scratching them up?
Find a real shop- quickly.

Well, stuff happens..Discount tire closed till Monday, going on road trip tomorrow and didn't wanna ride without spare.
Went to NTB, they had tire in Stock, they were open, guy came out of the back shop and assured me that they will not scratch the rim.
1. I look into shop, they have truck jacked up by center of axle...thats a no no from what I heard..gonna talk to ford monday and ask if they owe me a new axle.
2 they chipped the rim (1) spot when removing balance weights... dummies chipped the finish side with there tool... weights are on inside!
3. They lightly scratched all spokes about 1 inch from the outter edge of rim

**** me off, gotta make my road trip later tomorrow cause now I gotta stop at NTB and tell them they owe me a rim!

Anybody know the OEM cost of the 20" black fx4 rim...I goggled but could not find.
