Default Checked the wheel and tire fitment, nothing on offset

Alright, so here's the deal. I'm looking at a set of 17x8 Tuff T03's with a -12 offset. The tires will be a 295/70 Nitto or a 305/70 I've heard people say that with 2.25" added from Billies I'll still need to trim my valence due to rub (but it won't rub the UCA), and I've heard people say that it won't be a huge deal and it'll fit without issue.

Then I've heard that it won't even fit at all. If I went with an 18x9 or a 20x9 what offset would I need? I've heard with an 18x9 I would need a +0 and with a 20x9 I'll need a positive offset. I'm looking for the tires to stick out past the well by an inch and a half, maybe 2 inches. Any chance you guys can help me out here?

I've had a couple of people respond on the other thread, but I figure this would be the place to get the full response that I'm looking for.

If you want tires that big you are going to need to have the wheels tucked in as much as possible to have a prayer at fitting those tires. If you want big tires on a leveling kit they can't be sticking out. If you want to go with a 33" tire instead of a 35" you can get away with a negative offset.

I would suggest a +18 or +25 if you want the bigger sizes.

-12mm will stick your wheels out like you want however.

If you decide to go with a 20 X 9 wheel +44 will get you stuck out 1/2" with 295/65/20's but, will need to trim the lower valance still...

So you guys would recommend, if I'm going with a 35" tire, to go with a positive offset? Like I said, I want it sticking out roughly an inch and a half, MAYBE 2 inches at the most. I don't mind SOME trimming around the plastic, or reshaping with a heat gun. But I don't want to cut any metal.

And then definitely with a 33" tire, or 285/70 or whatever I'd be able to get out of it (maybe a 33x12.50) I can go with a -12 offset on a 17x8 (or 18x9).

Also, what if I want an 18x9 with a 295/60? Would that work a little better than the 295/70?

I have a 2014 FX4 Tremor and just installed Nitto 305/70s on Method 17x8.5 wheels with zero offset with a 2" Icon level kit. The tires rubbed (in reverse only) on the front plastic valance and the inner edge of the plastic fender flare at the rear of the wheel well. Trimmed both with a Dremel and all is well. My tires stick out 1.5" past the front fender flares. I definitely could not fit a bigger diameter tire without more lift but the 305/70s look great to me. I would have preferred -12 offset since I like the tires sticking out more but Method did not offer that offset in a 17" wheel. Pretty sure -12 offset would fit ok since my zero offset fits fine with a little trimming.

Thanks for the input, man. I'm just trying to make sure that I have everything I need to make an informed decision. The wheel/tire package I'm looking at is a Tuff T03 17x8 and I was offered a 285/70 or a 295/70. But obviously I have other options.

One other thing that might be of interest. I bought my wheels and tires from Discount Tire. They agreed to order both for me (neither the wheels nor tires were stocked by DT) and test fit them for me when they came in. If either one or both did not fit to my satisfaction they agreed to swap them out for a different size. So I had no risk of getting stuck with wheels or tires that did not fit. Plus DT will match any other vendor's price. Can't beat them.

We won't special order anything anymore without full payment Too many people come in to order and swear they will come back with the money and never show up.

They honestly wouldn't match the price I was quoted. Full set of 17x8 Tuff T03 and Terra Graps for $1317 balanced. Only thing I would have do to is mount them, which isn't difficult at all. That said, I could always check out a 17x8 and a 285/70 at Discount Tire, with the offset I desire on multiple rims.
