Default 17 inch rims and 35s

Lookin at gettin new tires and i would like to get some 315 70s or 305 65s. problem is i dont want them rubbing so i know im gunna need some after market rims. Would 17x8 or 17x9 be what i need to keep the tires from rubbing and also not stickin out too far?

Thanks for any help

The 17x8 wheel with 5-1/2 inches of BS stick's out only 1/2" more then stock and is the best wheel to fit 35's on a leveled 4x4 without rubbing. The more you stick out in the front the more chances to rub on the lower wheelwell.

Not on the 17x8 wheels with 5 1/2 inches of BS.

PAW PAW,

question??? does ur truck shown have the 315/70R17's or 295/70R17's?
I see the 315 listed as a note, but the profile says 295's..

how about a 2010 F150 with 17x9's with 4.5 BackSpacing and -11 offset?

will the 315/70R17 fit? or a 305/70R17? dont mind having to trim the "plastic on the lower fender" a little...

how is "Gas Mileage" and "power"??

I have the 315/70R17 on my stock 17 inch rims.Backspacing on stock rims are perfect for 35's.The only trimming i had to do was the plastic bumber valence.

The pic was a few year's ago when I had the 315 BFG's on. I have the same wheels now but with the 295 Toyo MT's on. A stock wheel or one with close to stock specs is ideal to run a 35" tire as long as it's not too wide. The more you stick out in the front the more chances to rub with only a leveling kit. A programmer will help the truck's performance but expect a 1 to 2 mpg drop mainly in city driving.

This pic is the 315's on 17x9 wheels with 5 inches of BS and they rubbed when turning, not bad but aggravating so I bought different wheels and no more rubbing. This pic was taken almost 5 yrs ago!
