Default Yet another source for audio gear

Ran across this outfit, don't know anything about them. Crutchfield is still my source for all things automotive AV gear but this place has brands I have never heard of, and it is interesting looking into some of them.

One thing about places online besides Crutchfield is that they are not authorized to sell online. Most high end car audio brands such as JL and Alpine have very strict transhipping rules, so if you buy from a place like onlinecarstereo or woofersetc, there is a chance that you may be screwed if something breaks on you.

There are a lot links that go to some pretty good shops.

Just some of my preferences. Crutchfield has some advantages, but the no longer compete as an economical choice. You might get free shipping but the 20% over manufacturer markup isn't worth it. They also no longer have exclusive rights with any of the manufacturers. So long as the company you buy from has an audio distributer's license. It's normally displayed at the bottom of the screen or on the contact page, the product warranty should be honored.

^^^^speaking the truth here. He's exactly right. I've been involved in the car audio industry for the last 18 years. You might get a decent deal on an amp from a place like woofersetc but regardless of what they tell you, the manufacturer will NOT support you if you have a repair need or technical support questions. If you must buy online...buy from Crutchfield. You're best bet when you want a specific brand or model is to call the manufacture and ask them where to buy in your area.

I have had good luck with woofersetc....Plus, Rockford fosgate has honored their warranty on 8 different occassions on things I got from them. My brother has also returned some JL gear he got from one of those websites also, either woofersetc or sonicelectronix.
