Default A work in progress

Hey guys this is what i spent the afternoon working on. I am building a box for a memphis shallow mount 10'' that will fit behind the back seat and allow the seat to still be functional. i got the box built but i am tired and fitting it into the truck will have to wait till tomorrow.

what do you guys think?

update: so i put the box in the truck and removed the fabric covering the back wall, the box fits perfectly however the speakersticks out just far enough that it hits the lower support bar on the seat. there for the back seat will not fold up. i can get it about half way but that is it...

On a good note the sound is perfect. its not going to wake the neighbors but does let you feel the music with a good clean sound.

I built a box almost exactly like that for my Pioneer tsw-251. Looks good. Something I noticed with the shallow box is that I needed to add Poly fill to get a good deep sound. Try it empty first, and it you dont like the sound go get a $3 bag of pillow stuffing from Walmart and stuff that dog leg with a couple hand fulls and fluff some in the main area and youll notice a big difference. Its all about tweaking till you get the sound you like.

here is the thread with my box. https://www.f150forum.com/f6/2002-xl...79/#post736868

ReSQDiVER nice box, they are very similar. only difference i see is mine is only 3inches in depth. i have looked into the polyfill just haven't done it yet. i am trying to get the box to fit behind the seat and allow the seat to still work.

Okay so new speaker showed up in the mail today, time to make a new box for it this weekend! attempt number 2 here we go

First attempt sub was a memphis shallow mount with a 3 inch mounting depth. sounds good but back seat doesnt work.

Second sub is a Power Acoustic thin 13 with only a 2 inch mounting depth. cant wait to hear what this thing can put out! has anybody had any experience with these?

well its all built, the box is only 2.1 inches think (outside demensions) and the speaker sticks out about a half inch. so total speaker plus box is about 2.6 inches. with all matting removed behind the seat. the box fits great however the backseat folds up 95% but then the support bar at the bottom of the seat is against the speaker. when the seat is up the speaker sounds very pingy as it is hitting the support bar with the seat down it sounds very good.

Man that sucks. I have two powered 8s behind the seat and all seat functionality is fine. I liked your concept though and was going to try it. Guess I'll stick with what I've got. Press on man. You'll figure it out.
