Mine is a kicker 300.1 with rca signal sense and stays on for a couple of minutes before it shuts the green light off. Im not using the kicker proprietary ZISL I just wired the rear speaker wires to some cut off rca's. Wonder if this is the reason for the amp staying on a couple minutes.

Im about to run a remote wire because i drove my truck today since the 300.1 amp install. When the truck shuts off at a red light for start/stop the radio and amp keep playing. When the truck cranks up the radio plays and amp shuts off for 5 seconds. Guess rear speaker inputs where I am getting the signal lose signal during cranking.

Unfortunately, I don't know the colors offhand for the front speakers. However, you could pop the door panels off and see, and then splice into them on the portion that's already ran inside of the cab.
Though, I have to say, I'd strongly recommend tapping the rear wires unless you have a great reason to use the fronts.

Bummer. Thanks anyways.
Unfortunately, sync only goes through the front speakers, as was the case on my 2012 and 2014. Because sync only goes through the front I need to use the fronts to get signal. I'm hoping I can tap into the wires in the dash and go from there (my search continues!)

so i recently put a PG system in my 150 and it sounds terrible i know its not the set up because if used it in my previous vehicles. i was reading the post on wiring it and seen that you got your sound source from both left and right rear speakers is that necessary ?

So... while not necessary per se, it's a good idea to do for it to sound right.

Hey all,
First off I have absolutely no experience with auto audio and subwoofers but I've read this guide through about a hundred times before I decided to go with it. Yesterday I bought a Kicker Hideaway from Bestbuy for $320 (tax included), a $10 wiring repair kit from Walmart (for the wire strippers and needle nose pliers mainly but it came with many extra goodies too) and another $5 on the quick splice connectors from Home Depot and that was all I needed to do this install. All wiring and connections came with the Kicker Hideaway! (Aside from the quick splice connectors)
I was able to remove the molding without any tools, just some careful prying with my fingers. Folded the back seat down, ran the wiring, taped into the left and right rear speakers, ran the power cable to the battery, and hooked up the ground cable as described in the guide.
All in all it took me about 2 hrs (running out of daylight and having to finish up in the dark drug things out a bit) and $335 for a huge improvement is bass. I would highly recommend this to anyone considering it and would like to thank Southpaw for taking the time to write this guide. And if you have the patience you can easily do this install for under $300 by ordering your Kicker from Amazon for much cheaper than Bestbuy but I was too impatient to wait for shipping.
And one last thing, there definitely is enough room for another Kicker hideaway or Rockford Fosgate PS-8 back there. One behind the seat in the middle and one behind the driver side rear seat.
