On your Pioneer sub box. Did you drill a hole for that seat belt bolt sticking up near the middle, and bolt the box to it?

I'm hoping to build little shelf between the two bolts.

I had to cut out the material behind the seat (in which you can see the outline of where the kicker sub would go...plus a bit more). The fit is tight but I can get the seat to latch closed. It shouldn't make any difference but I will note I have a super-cab, not a super-crew.

The pioneer web site lists Enclosure size (WxDxH): 18-5/8" x 13-7/8" x 6" but not sure if this is accurate.
The box measures 18-5/8" x 12" x 5 5/8". The 5-5/8" includes the protruding legs that prevent the woofer from impacting the floor (assuming a normal install with the sub-woofer facing down). Now that I'm back inside out of the rain, I realize I only measured on one end so this assumes a true rectangular shape.

Did you Drill a hole in the box, or set the box a top of the seat belt bolt?

As of now, just sitting there. Eventually, I will either use a 2x4 or whatever to build a shelf or drill a hole in the box. Thoughts?

I now Realize, why others put a 2x4 under they're boxes!

I think that's what I'll try, when my box arrives later this week! I already have Flat Black spray paint. For the 2x4, that is...

What I did was sit the box ontop of the left bolt (when seat folded looking toward rear) and them used a piece of material on the other side so the box would sit level. I just lined it up pretty well even between the metal frame tabs of the seat back.

The way I cut the carpet ensures a snug fit and the box is wedged and can't move. Stuck some Velcro strips against the backwall to add some traction. Hasn't moved at all

Why is everyone running the Pioneer sub when the JL Audio 13TW5v2-4 is thinner? Is it just the price difference? If I can find a box for it, I'd rather have the JL Audio.

Pioneer TS-SW2502S4:
Size 10"
RMS: 300 Watt
Mounting Depth 3-1/8"
Recommended Enclosure 0.35 - 0.70 cu. ft.

JL Audio 13TW5v2-4:
Size 13.5"
RMS: 600 Watt
Mounting Depth (E) 2.625 in / 67 mm
Driver Displacement 0.052 cu ft / 1.47 L

The JL audio does sound better.. But in my opinion not $300+ better. The pioneer sub can be had with enclosure for about $100. The JL audio sub is $450 for the sub alone.

If you ever find a box for it, I would be curious to know how it sounds.
White_dc - where did you hear it and with what amp ?

I have a couple questions
Did you notice any installation differences compared to the hundreds of SuperCrew posts?

Any chance you can post some pics of how much room you have between the seat and sub? I assume your seat bottom and back still raise and lower?

I’m hoping to use the same Sub, box, and amp that is currently behind the seat in my 2003 RegCab F150 in my ’16 SuperCab. But I’m afraid it’s too deep. I think it’s about 5” on top and 8” on bottom. But I haven’t cut any of the material behind the seat yet to check clearances.
There’s not a lot of info out there about the Scab. I’m just wondering if there are any significant differences between Scab and Screw regarding wire locations or routes.

Thanks in advance
