Wiring a sub / subwoofer and amplifier in 2015 F-150 (no door removal, how-to guide)
#161
Installed a kicker hideaway yesterday! Sound is amazing for what it is and really cleans up the sound in the car.
I did not run a power wire and the sub/amp turn off and on when you open and close the door.
I followed this DIY all the way through and I highly recommend it.

In-line fuse/Fuse holder
I am a newbie to installing radio equipment. This guide was a huge help. I have one question. Did anyone use the inline fuse that came with the kicker hideaway? I am doing the install and wondered if anyone used the red/black fuse holder that came with the kicker. Great write up, saved me tons of time.

Thanks,
This saved me an enormous amount of time. I ran power wire on passenger side though, theres another grommet behind battery. Ran fuse tap on #37 passenger footwell. Ran Rockford fosgate 3.5 in dash, rockford 6x9 front doors, and rockford 6.5 in rear doors. LC2I was a pain to tune, but sounds awesome now. Ran a crunch 1100 x 1 amp, 2 slim fosgate 12" subs, and a custom box from NetAudio. Sounds awesome.

Thanks for the write up! Got the kicker installed and just need to dial it in.
What's the general consensus on the remote turn on wiring or just leave the amp on sensing for speaker?

Just put my kicker hideaway in today. I've never used these all-in-one units before always did a lot bigger stereos, but I'm impressed for what it is! I recommend anyone looking for more from their stereo to consider buying one.

FYI, guys are buying the WPT-1212 harness for the factory sub option and splicing all of their wires directly into that. No wire to battery, no pulling panels - however it appears the correct option has to be turned on in forscan for it to work correctly.
Orange/Red = Power
Black/Violet = Ground
Brown = Remote Turn On/Clip Detect
Violet = Speaker +
Green = Speaker -
Black = Shield +/-
