I know this is an old thread, but I have been searching all over and haven't found an answer to this question. I have the factory Sony system and want to wire in a JL Fix86 to ultimately hook up an amp for door speakers and sub. I assume I have to pickup the factory speaker wires coming out of the factory amp to run to the sound processor, then I would like to run it back from the new amp to the factory amp location to pickup the factory speaker wires to the doors.

First of all, does this sound correct? Second of all, is there any kind of harness that I can use so I don't have to splice up the factory harness out of the amp?

Lastly, does anybody know if this configuration will mess up any of the factory sync features?

Thanks in advance!

I have a 2013 FX4 with Sony and Nav. If you want to replace the stock amp and keep your OEM screen and all SYNC, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, etc. you want to run the Rockford Fosgate DSR1 with an idatalink maestro afo2 Harness. It will require no cutting, provide a seriously complete signal processor, and gives low level outputs for up to 8 channels of amplifier.

I have a 2014 SCREW- Sony w/Nav. There is also the PAC AMPPRO which is plug n play, no splicing and provides rca outs & optical via a small unit and harness you tuck behind head unit. $250 out the door and does everything needed to add amp and flat sound out. 😎

Default No Volume control ‽

I too have the Sony setup on my 2012 screw Lariat and used the PAC AOEM-FRD24 to bypass factory amp and it comes on LOUD. I put in a 4 channel 300w eclipse amp for the 4 door speakers I replaced(frt: focal componants rear: kicker 4ways) and added a 8" kicker hideaway. Before this harness I tried 2 others that best buy told me "is what I need" that did the same. So now I'm wondering if everybody has a aftermarket volume control?

If it is loud at minimum volume, with multiple harnesses, that sounds like a gain setting issue on your amp. Take a picture of the amp gain settings and we can help more.

I just picked up an LC2i to see if that helps.

I just realized that you said you have the sony and tried using the PAC AOEM-FRD24. That one does not work with the sony system. You need the the pac amp pro interface for sony.

Here is the harness you have, notice under compatibility it says does not work with sony. https://catalog.pac-audio.com/catalo...ing/aoem-frd24

Here is what you need:
https://catalog.pac-audio.com/catalo...faces/ap4-fd11

Then this additional harness makes it no cut / splice.
https://catalog.pac-audio.com/catalo.../5238-aph-fd01

This is all due to how the Factory Radio (ACM) communicates with the sony amp. It outputs a single (maximum) volume to the sony amp for the signal. The volume control is controlled by a different input to the factory sony amp via the can bus system. So, with what you tried doing right now, you are getting a single (maximum) volume level, and no matter what you do with the volume control, it does not change. Buy the above interface and it will solve it. You will have to keep the factory sony amp in the vehicle under the console for this to work.

There is also the rockford dsr1, but trust me, do not buy that one....It has a bunch of software and programming issues. The hardware is good....if you get it to work.
