Default Where is the best place to run power through firewall?

I have a 07 Supercab, is there a good place to go through the firewall?
What did you guys do? Has anybody pigtailed off of the 12v plug in back instead or does it need to go straight to the battery? This would be for a powered sub.

There is a spot above the pedals where there is a rubber plug that can be used to run any size of wire through.

Thanks Toyz51, I will check it out tonight. Would there be anything going through it or is it just a plug for future use?

Can somebody please post some pics on where this rubber plug is located above the pedals? I did a Google search on this topic and got a few hits that say the same place, but I just don’t see it on my 07 super cab. Thanks!

There is insulation covering it on the inside of the vehicle, but there is a cutout on the carpet to remove to get access to it. Here are some pics, the first is of the area inside the vehicle where it is. The second is with the insulation cutout removed. The third is the location of the plug in the engine bay.

I found one, just need to figure out how to get through it. I guess I can drill through the rubber grommet, but if anybody else has done it differently, please post.

Actually it’s a powered sub from Crutch. Just waiting for it to come back in stock and I will order it, so I’m not sure the gauge of the wire yet.
