Default wanting to put a system in

I want to put a system in my 99 f150, im new to this least to say.
Can you guys give me some good Sub Names and ones to stay away from?

i was going to put in two shallow 12's but i think im going to put in 2 GOOD 10's

I also plan on raising my back seat 2" or so, i plan on building my own box.
i was at the store and i saw these 10" kickers already in a box and that gave me a idea, why dont i throw those under the seat but like i said i want some good 10's

The old adage "you get what you pay for" normally works in car stereo. Look for the stats you're want in the sub, then look on diyma.com and realmofexcursion.com for reviews.

Also I have had a lot of luck with crutchfield.com. They don't always have the best prices but you can get on there and they have experts you can talk to on the phone or via internet based chat and help you make a decision. Then when you figure out what you want from there then you can go search on google and find the same product for cheaper. With that being said there are many many many factors that go into making a sound system sound good.

I have kicker in several vehicles and have yet to be disappointed. And they have yet to fail to this day. The oldest of which is 6 years old. However, I have a shallow P3 in my truck now and am pleased seeing how it is a shallow. Stay away from Pioneer Shallows, their terrible. I tried both the 10" and the 12". I cant vouge for the 10" shallow kicker though. Their normal subs are great though.

well ive done alot of searching and looking at reviews, so i went to my local Auido Store and talked to the guy, he gave me 2 Kicker CVT 10" 800w 4ohm for 99$ a piece, i got a Crunch 1000w Amp for like 100$ i believe. Head unit Jvc- 50wx4 for 80$

I think i did pretty good, he threw in wiring and i got it professionally installed so it cost more

nice equipment. Normally when I installed stereos, I made sure my spearkers could handle more wattage than my amp. So with the below I probably would of gone with 1200w speakers. Of course that was when I was younger and stupid and cranked the radio to max.

Max/Peak ratings do not matter, only RMS. It's actually better to have more amp than speaker so that you aren't distorting the signal when your subs are performing at full power.

The comp vt's are rated at 400W RMS each. Depending on which model you got, I'd assume you're getting more like 500W RMS out of the Crunch (so 250W per sub). You're probably getting in the 17-20W RMS range per channel out of the head unit.
