Video viewing problem on new stereo
I just installed my new pioneer avh-p1400dvd stereo and everytime I try to enter video mode or try to view pictures or something it says video viewing is dangerous or something and I can't figure it out. What have I done wrong or what could I do to make it work? Thanks for your input

you have to have a bypass for it or ground the parkin brake wire.. dvd players are not allowed to play while driving thats y there is a parking brake wire on harness once you apply brake it will play. so either using a tr-7 or grounding parking brake to view ur dvds while driving. i say but on a toggle switch cause if your pulled over you can get a ticket for it

I just installed the pioneer bt2400 in mine. To watch video in motion you need to hook up a relay to trick the stereo into thinking the ebrake is on. You could use a switch but I dont like that as its one more thing to mount and you can switch source on the stereo just as easy as flipping a switch, plus the relay is automatic, nothing to switch on/off manualy. If you only want to watch video with e brake on, follow the instructions in the pioneer manual. If you want to do the relay/switch look it up on youtube its easy.
You cant just ground the parking brake wire on the new pioneers.

So how do I trick it so that I can have it playing while I'm driving down the road? My girlfriend wants to watch movies on it so I want it to play while I'm driving. What are the options?

The parking break wire off the stereo harness goes to one pin on the relay, the blue remote wire goes to another,(its ok if your using the remote wire for an amp too, just tap into it) and then two grounds. With that installed it will play video anytime, automatically. No switch to mount amd turn on/off. Look on youtube for more instructions and what pins go to what wires on the relay. Its easy. If you can install a stereo you can do this. Its just a standard $5 12v relay you can get at any parts store.
