Default USB and my flash drive

who has put something in the middle of the seat (wife's purse )so when i hit the brakes it flopped over and riped my flash drive out. now it dont work is there a way to replace the USB port ? or put another one in?

the flash drive is broke? or the input slot on the head unit?

flash drive works in my computer not in my truck and as for other devices like my i pod dont work any longer as well in the truck it works ion my usb on my computer

so it sounds like the input on your radio is busted, the only thing i would say is if you know anything about electronics you can easily tear it apart and install another one with some sauder but other wise i would say, time for a new radio lol

If nothing cosmetically is wrong with your USB port, I would do a USB2 mod and live without the USB.

good thinkin, i was thinkin after market headunit cuz there is no such thing as usb in 97 unless you put it there

thats a great mod ill do that tomarow lol and thanks bet i could even put my hard drive in my glove box whoo-hoo

The stock USB port is just a USB cable in a adapter/plug clipped into the face plate. You can pop the SYNC cover plate off and get to the cable. Would take about an hour to replace the stock cable if you take the head unit out.

ok did the mod of adding a second USB in my glove box (love it !)
and noticed what
beidle99
said was true so i fix both. man what started out as quick saturday little project ended up all day a 18 pack and half a bottle of crown royal premium but i got it done.
thanks all for the help ! and now i have to usb ports! just wish my hard drive was supported buy the sync
