You will love RE, I have an RE SR 10 in a ported probox and it sounds awsome. I have a 800w USAmp pushing it and it never bottems out our has anykind of distortion. Great subs!

Thats what I've heard. I was looking at the memphis sclass subs that I had heard good things about and then people started telling me to look into the RE's. I haven't found anything bad about them yet

OK...ok...ok....I'll fess-up. I don't really know much about mobile audio speakers. I should let my installer write posts about that stuff. But what I do know is Pioneer makes the best head unit IMHO. Some say they make great speakers too. I dunno....I've heard some good quality sound from cheaper speakers. My installer does like Titanium (a very little-known company) since they produce a nice sound and are inexpensive. I have 6 5x7 3-way Titanium speakers in my E350 Extended van with a cheap Pioneer single din head unit (double din wouldn't fit) and a 10" amped sub. That system ROCKS and sounds 1,000 times better than what's in my 2009 SCrew.

What I do know is the factory stereo in my 2009 SCrew S-U-C-K-S. It's horrible. My $20 Sony clock/radio sounds better. I bought this truck to flip, so I'm gonna put an inexpensive Jensen head unit in it since they make economical touch screen units that produce decent sound. I hope just that upgrade will change the dynamics of the sound in the cabin. If I were gonna keep this truck, I'd put Titanium speakers in the doors and two 8" amped subs under the rear seat. The rear seat in this 2009 SCrew has way more available space than my 2007 SCrew. My 2007 has one 8" sub since that's all I could stuff under the seat. HA - my kids freak out when I turn up the bass

Cheers!

My question is, since I will be getting the Pioneer AVH P4200 DVD HU before anything else, will I need any special wiring harnesses or anything to run the stock sub to the head unit? or will it just plug and play?

You need the audiophile harness (has the 8 pin sub connector) the Metra number is located in the Sticky.
